Volunteer opportunities are available in a variety of areas.
• manning YCR booth at fairs and shows
• educating the public about the 'real' Chihuahua
• transporting YCR dogs
• screening applicant via telephoning and home visits
• responding to inquirers
• following up on adoption placements
• fund raising
• maintaining records
• creating and maintaining public relations and web sites
• write articles for our newsletter, website, etc.
• maintaining contact with shelters and other rescue groups
• monitor shelters and rescue Chihuahuas that may be there.
• foster homes
• permanent foster homes for special need Chihuahuas
• and more.
Just a few hours can make a difference in the life of a homeless Chihuahua. |

To become a Foster Home
The Yankee Chihuahua Rescue. is a non-profit, tax deductible organization that believes that all chihuahua and chihuahua mixes, have the right to live in safe, warm homes.
The YCR objectives are:
•To rehabilitate and place homeless Chihuahuas and Chihuahua/Mixes in homes that meet the needs of each dog.
•To promote responsible pet guardianship through education, about how to choose the right dog and care for it, resulting in a rewarding experience for them and for the dog.
•To maintain and strengthen good working relationships with veterinary professionals and other reputable animal rescue organizations.
•To insure every dog placed will never be homeless again.
